AN A319 PLT RPTS AN ENG NACELLE CONTACTING THE RWY DURING LNDG IN GUSTY XWIND CONDITIONS.
INCIDENT: DAMAGE WAS OBSERVED ON L LOWER ENG NACELLE DURING POST/PREFLT WALKAROUND. PF; CAPT. NARRATIVE: SIGNIFICANT CUMULONIMBUS WERE IN THE VICINITY OF MCO AND ON THE BITHO7 ARR. ATIS HAD WINDS 180 DEGS/09 KTS 10 SM VMC. APCH WAS VECTORING ARRIVING ACFT AROUND CUMULONIMBUS FOR RWY 18R AND ADVISING ACFT TO KEEP SPD UP AS AIRFIELD COULD CLOSE SHORTLY. AUTO UPDATE ATIS ONE MINUTE LATER SAME AS PREVIOUS WITH EXCEPTION OF LLWS ADVISORY. ON BASE TO FINAL A PIREP WAS PASSED ON FINAL APCH FREQ INDICATING ONLY LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN ON FINAL. ACR Y LANDED AHEAD OF US AND DO NOT RECALL ANY ADVERSE PIREPS FROM THEM. WE INTERCEPTED RWY 18R FINAL (MANAGED/MANAGED/SELECTED SPD/AUTOTHRUST); APCH CORRIDOR WAS VMC; WITH ONLY INTERMITTENT LIGHT RAIN. AT APPROX 2000 FT TWR RPTED WINDSHEAR ALERTS ON RWY 18R AND ADVISED US THAT SIDESTEP TO RWY 18L WAS AVAILABLE IF RWY WAS IN SIGHT. WE ACCEPTED AND CLRED TO LAND RWY 18L (AUTOPLT OFF/AUTOTHRUST ON). SIGNIFICANT VISIBLE WX WAS OBSERVED W OF THE FIELD. ON VASI APCH RWY 18L HAD TO CONTINUALLY ADJUST CRAB INTO R TO L XWIND AND OBSERVED WIND SHIFTING IN DIRECTION AND INTENSITY ON NAV DISPLAY. ON SHORT FINAL TWR ADVISED OF WINDSHEAR ALERTS ON RWY 18L. MAINTAINED FINAL SELECTED SPD OF REF AND 20 (150 KTS) TO KEEP ENERGY AND ENGS SPOOLED FOR POSSIBLE WINDSHEAR/GA AND MANEUVERING. FINAL APCH TO LNDG WAS STABLE. NO ECAM WINDSHEAR ALERTS; WARNINGS OR SIGNIFICANT AIRSPD DEVS OCCURRED THROUGHOUT APCH; LNDG; AND ROLLOUT. AT LNDG FLARE JUST PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN; L WING DROPPED ABRUPTLY AND L MAIN TOUCH DOWNED FIRST. ON POST/PREFLT WALKAROUND DAMAGE WAS OBSERVED BY FO ON LOWER L ENG NACELLE. IT WAS CONFIRMED BY THE CAPT AND IMMEDIATELY RPTED TO MAINT. NOTE: ATIS AUTO UPDATE WHICH MATCHES OUR LAND TIME INDICATED WINDS 240 DEGS/16 KTS GUSTING 26 KTS; 10 SM VMC.
