AN SR22 DEPARTING LAS EXPERIENCED TEMPORARY COM FAILURE.

Narrative

I WAS CLRED FOR TKOF ON RWY 19R AT LAS WITH A VFR CLRNC. AS I DEPARTED THE RWY; I RECEIVED AN EXTREMELY LOUD RADIO INTERFERENCE ON BOTH RADIOS. IT LASTED FOR 60 SECONDS IN WHICH I COULD NOT HEAR ANYTHING. I SWITCHED RADIOS AND HEADSETS BUT THE NOISE CONTINUED. I ANNOUNCED TO THE TWR THAT I HAD LOST COMS. THE NOISE DISAPPEARED AT 1000 FT AND RE-ESTABLISHED COM WITH THE TWR. I WAS HANDED OFF TO DEP WITH NO FUTURE PROBS. I CALLED THE TWR SUPVR (UPON REQUEST) AND STATED WHAT HAD HAPPENED. HE MENTIONED THAT RADIO INTERFERENCE HAPPENS OFTEN ON THE FIELD AND THAT IT COULD HAVE BEEN A SUNSPOT OR RADIO SIGNALS FROM THE LCL CASINOS. THE SUPVR STATED THAT NO RPTS WOULD BE FILED AND WANTED TO HEAR MY SIDE OF THE EVENT. I REMAINED WITHIN 10 DEGS OF MY ASSIGNED HDG AND REMAINED BELOW THE ASSIGNED ALT. I FEEL THAT SOME TYPE OF ELECTRONIC OR RADIO INTERFERENCE WAS A RESULT OF THE NEARBY CASINOS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: PLT INDICATED HE HAS HAD NO PROBS WITH THIS ACFT AT ANY OTHER ARPTS; OR AT LAS ON 4 OTHER FLTS. HE HAS FLOWN OTHER ACFT TYPES INTO LAS WITHOUT ANY INTERFERENCE ISSUES. HE BELIEVES IT MUST BE SOME EXTERNAL INTERFERENCE FROM SUNSPOTS OR HOTEL/CASINO XMITTERS.
