A C650 DEPARTING ON A DAL DEP FLEW A DFW DEP OF THE SAME NAME.

Narrative

I WAS THE COPLT ON A C650 DEPARTING DAL AT APPROX XA55 ON JUN/WED/06. I HAD PERFORMED MY NORMAL DUTIES PRIOR TO TKOF. I GOT THE ATIS; CLRNC; AND SET UP THE RADIO SAND EFIS FOR OUR DEP. UNFORTUNATELY IN THE PROCESS I PICKED THE WRONG DEP CHART. BECAUSE OF ALL THE VARIOUS CHARTS FROM DIFFERENT ARPTS WITH THE SAME NAMES FOR THE ROUTING I TOOK THE DFW CHART INSTEAD OF THE DALLAS LOVE CHART AND PUT IT ON THE CAPT'S YOKE. THE CAPT WAS HELPING TO BOARD OUR PAX AND WHEN THAT WAS COMPLETED HE CAME INTO THE COCKPIT AND WE IMMEDIATELY DEPARTED. AFTER TKOF WE FLEW RWY HDG FOR ABOUT 1 MIN; THEN THE DEP CTLR WAS CHASTISING AN ACFT ON THE FREQ FOR WAITING TOO LONG TO MAKE THEIR TURN AFTER TKOF TO A FIX. MY CAPT THEN STARTED STUDYING OUR DEP CHART AND AT FIRST SEEMED TO BE CONFUSED AT WHAT HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DOING. OUR ROUTING WAS DISPLAYED ON THE MULTIFUNCTION DISPLAY SO HE THEN STARTED A TURN TO THE FIRST FIX ON OUR RTE. THE CTLR; IN ABOUT 30 SECONDS; ASKED WHERE WE WERE GOING AND I REPLIED THAT WE WERE HEADING TO THE FIRST FIX. SHE THEN GAVE US A HDG TO FLY. AFTER SEVERAL VECTORS; SHE GAVE US A TELEPHONE NUMBER TO CALL ONCE WE WERE ON THE GND. THE CAPT THEN DISCOVERED THAT THE CHART WAS FROM DFW AND THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE DIFFERENT FROM DALLAS LOVE WHICH SAID WE WERE TO MAINTAIN RWY HDG 130 DEGS UNTIL VECTORS FROM DEP CTL. IT WAS MY ERROR IN CHOOSING THE WRONG CHART BUT IT SEEMS THERE COULD BE A BETTER SYS. THERE ARE SO MANY ARPTS AND SO MANY CHARTS WITH THE SAME DEP RTE NAMES THAT IT MAKES IT EASY TO SELECT THE WRONG ONE IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE AREA.
