C90 CTLR EXPRESSED CONCERN REGARDING THE MINIMAL SPACED DEPS FROM ORD TWR.
I WAS ASSIGNED THE E AND N DEP POS COMBINED. THERE WAS NO HDOF CTLR ASSIGNED TO ME; SO I HAD TO DO ALL MY OWN LANDLINE COORDS. THE VARIOUS TYPE OF ACFT INVOLVED WERE: CRJ2; E145; B757; B737; B747; DC9. ZAU FLOW EBOUND WAS 2 JET FLOWS; 7 MI IN TRAIL. ZAU CTR FLOW NBOUND WAS 1 JET FLOW; 10 MI IN TRAIL. ORD TWR SENT ME 2 NBOUND ACFT SIDE-BY-SIDE OFF DIFFERENT RWYS (RWY 32L AND RWY 4L). I HAD TO STOP N DEPS IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THE 10 MI SPACING BTWN EACH ACFT FOR ZAU. ORD TWR SENT ME 4 NBOUND ACFT; 4 MI APART OFF VARIOUS RWYS. I HAD TO STOP N DEPS IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THE 10 MI SPACING BTWN EACH ACFT FOR ZAU. ORD TWR SENT ME 5 EBOUND ACFT; 3 MI APART OFF VARIOUS RWYS. I HAD TO STOP E DEPS IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THE 7 MI SPACING BTWN EACH ACFT FOR ZAU. THIS IS NOT A UNIQUE SITUATION TO C90. THIS HAPPENS NUMEROUS TIMES THROUGHOUT THE DAY ON A DAILY BASIS. C90 MGR TOLD ME THAT HE SPOKE WITH ORD TWR ABOUT THE SPACING ON DEP. THE TWR'S RESPONSE WAS 'SORRY.' THE C90 MGR THOUGHT THIS RESPONSE WAS OK. THE CAUSE OF THE PROB: ORD TWR; THE FAA; C90 MGMNT DOES NOT CARE WHAT SPACING IS GIVEN ON DEP. THE ONLY THING THEY CARE ABOUT IS KEEPING DELAYS DOWN AND GETTING THE ACFT AIRBORNE. WHATEVER DEP HAS TO DO TO GET REQUIRED SPACING IS THE DEP CTLR'S PROB. NO ONE BUT THE DEP CTLR IS HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR SPACING. THIS DOES NOT MAKE A LICK OF SENSE.
