A C206 AMPHIBIAN AFTER LNDG ROLLOUT AND AT SLOW TAXI SPD AT THE TXWY INTXN THE L MAIN LNDG GEAR COLLAPSED. CAUSE UNKNOWN.
I HAD JUST MADE A NORMAL LNDG ON RWY 10. I WAS JUST A BIT FAST TO MAKE THE FIRST TURN OFF FROM RWY 10; SO I CONTINUED TO TAXI SLOWLY TO THE NEXT TURNOFF. AT A SLOW TAXI SPD; FAIRLY CLOSE TO THE NEXT TURNOFF TXWY; THE L MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED. I SKIDDED TO A GENTLE STOP; SET THE BRAKES; RADIOED ON UNICOM THAT MY PLANE WAS DISABLED ON RWY 10 AND I SHUT DOWN THE PLANE. I WAS AWARE OF NO PERSONAL INJURY TO ME NOR TO MY PAX. I WAS AWARE OF NO DAMAGE TO THE PLANE EXCEPT SOME PAINT SCRAPED OFF OF THE BOTTOM OF THE L FLOAT KEEL. I WAS AWARE OF NO DAMAGE TO THE RWY. I SAW WHAT APPEARED TO BE A FAINT SCRAPE LINE WHERE MY L FLOAT HAD DRAGGED THE RWY. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE CAUSE OF THE LNDG GEAR FAILURE HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED AS THE AIRPLANE HAS NOT BEEN JACKED AND TESTED. NO DAMAGE WAS INCURRED AS ONLY A PAINT SCRAPE ON THE L KEEL WAS NOTED. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 711457: AFTER LNDG AT ARPT ON ROLLOUT GETTING READY TO EXIT RWY; L MAIN LNDG GEAR RETRACTED. XA35 PM SEP/WED/06 RWY 10. I WAS IN THE R SEAT (NO PF). CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR FROM ACN 711457 REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE ACFT HAD NO DAMAGE BUT THE FAILURE OF THE L LNDG GEAR HAS TO THIS DATE NOT BEEN INVESTIGATED AND THE CAUSE OF FAILURE IS UNKNOWN.
