C206 PLT EXPERIENCES BOUNCED LNDG WHICH RESULTS IN ACFT DAMAGE.
ON OCT/SUN/06; I DID A PREFLT AND FOUND THE FRONT TIRE FLAT. I HAD THE FRONT TIRE INFLATED. IN JULY 2006 THE A&P WHO PERFORMED THE ANNUAL INSTALLED A RUBBER SLEEVE ON THE FRONT HYD STRUT. I ATTEMPTED A TOUCH AND GO AND WHEN THE FRONT WHEEL CONTACTED THE RWY THE FRONT END 'BOUNCED' THE ENTIRE AIRPLANE IN THE AIR. I DID A GAR ABORTING THE LNDG. I MADE ANOTHER ATTEMPT; THIS TIME I CAME IN AS LOW AND SLOW AS POSSIBLE OVER THE NUMBERS AND WHEN THE FRONT TIRE CONTACTED THE RWY THE SAME 'BUCKING' OCCURRED. THE AIRPLANE FINALLY SETTLED AND I TAXIED IT IN. I ASKED IF THE A&P COULD LOOK AT IT. I ARRIVED AT THE A&P HANGAR OCT/MON/06 AT APPROX XA00. HE WAS WORKING ON THE FRONT GEAR. THE A&P TOLD ME THAT THE AIRPLANE WAS FIXED AND THAT I SHOULD ATTEMPT TO LAND IT. I MADE A LNDG. THIS TIME THE INITIAL LNDG WAS SMOOTH BUT THE ACFT WAS PULLING TO THE R ON TAXI IN. I TAXIED BACK TO THE FBO OFFICE AND INFORMED THE A&P AS TO WHAT HAPPENED. THE A&P ATTRIBUTED THE PULLING TO THE R TO A SLIGHT XWIND AND SUGGESTED I TRY ANOTHER LNDG. UPON THE FRONT WHEEL TOUCHING THE RWY THE AIRPLANE 'BUCKED' VIOLENTLY AND STRUCK THE PROP AND WINGTIP ON THE RWY. I NEVER ASKED FOR THE RUBBER ADDITION TO MY NOSE GEAR AND ASSUMED THAT WAS AN STC PART TRUSTING THE A&P. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR FOUND OUT AFTER THE FACT THAT THE RUBBER SLEEVE WAS USED AS A TEMPORARY FIX IN VERY COLD CLIMATES. IT IS NOT FAA APPROVED AND SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN INSTALLED ON THE ACFT.
