A320 FLT CREW IS CONCERNED WITH COMPANY DISPATCH PROCS.
WE ARRIVED AT SJC OPS FOR OUR FLT. AFTER FINDING THE FLT PAPERS MY FO AND I RAISED THE CLRED FUEL AND I SIGNED THE RELEASE. SIMULTANEOUSLY THE FUELER ARRIVED AND ASKED IF THE FUEL HAD BEEN CHANGED FROM THE ORIGINAL AND I SAID YES. THE FUELER THEN WENT TO THE OPS AGENT THAT WAS SITTING NEXT TO US AND ASKED WHAT THE NEW FUEL LOAD WAS? SHE REPLIED THAT THERE WAS NO CHANGE. HEARING THIS I INTERJECTED THAT WE DID HAVE FUEL INCREASE AND SHE SAID 'NO YOU GAVE ME A SIGNED RELEASE WITH NO FUEL CHANGE;' AND HELD UP A FPF WITH A SIGNATURE. I SAID I HAD ONLY SIGNED IT ELECTRONICALLY AND THAT SHE MUST HAVE SOMEONE ELSE'S FPF. AFTER LOOKING AT THE PAPERS SHE HAD THE FPF FOR FLT XXX RATHER THAN OUR FLT. AT ANY RATE SHE SAID I NEEDED TO GIVE HER A SIGNED COPY BECAUSE THE RELEASES WERE NOT PRINTING IN OPS AND SHE HAD NO WAY OF KNOWING OF A FUEL INCREASE UNLESS I GAVE A HAND SIGNED COPY. MY CONCERN IS THAT WITHOUT KNOWING THAT SJC OPS IS NOT RECEIVING COPIES OF THE RELEASES A CREW COULD DEPART WITHOUT HAVING A RECORD COPY ON FILE. IF I HAD NOT OVERHEARD THE CONVERSATION WITH THE AGENT AND THE FUELER WE COULD HAVE EXPERIENCED A DELAY WHILE WAITING ON THE FUEL. I AM CONCERNED WITH OUR 'IT' SVCS. WHILE I FAVOR VARIOUS USES OF 'IT' TO FLT PLAN; OUR INOP PRINTERS ARE MAKING IT MORE AND MORE DIFFICULT TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF DISPATCH.
