Synopsis

AN HS125 WITH AN UNSAFE NOSE GEAR WAS LANDED SAFELY AFTER THE CREW COMPLETED THE EMER CHKLIST AND DID A TWR FLYBY.

Narrative

WHILE ON THE ILS RWY APCH TO ZZZ; THE CREW NOTICED THE NOSEWHEEL LNDG GEAR INDICATOR LIGHT WAS NOT ILLUMINATED AFTER THE EXTENSION OF THE LNDG GEAR DURING THE APCH AND LNDG PROC. THE CREW CONTINUED THE APCH AND ADVISED THE TWR OF THE PROB. WE FLEW PAST THE TWR; WHICH CONFIRMED THAT THE GEAR APPEARED TO BE DOWN AND WE ALSO CHKED THE SECONDARY INDICATIONS OF A NOSE GEAR PIN; WHICH WAS IN THE UP POS. THE NOSEWHEEL STEERING WAS ALSO IN THE CTRED POS. THE MAIN GEAR POS LIGHTS WERE GREEN; AS WERE THE STANDBY LIGHTS FOR THE MAIN GEAR. THE CREW DECIDED TO GO HOLD TO RUN THE CHKLIST. WE DID A GAR AND WERE GIVEN A RADAR VECTOR AND CLB TO 2000 FT. WE WERE THEN HANDED OVER TO APCH CTLRS AND GIVEN A HOLD AT 4000 FT. WE ACCOMPLISHED THE CHKLIST AND CALLED THE COMPANY ON THE PHONE. WE THEN BRIEFED THE PAX AND DECIDED TO DECLARE AN EMER WITH APCH CTL. RADAR VECTORS WERE GIVEN TO RE-INTERCEPT THE ILS RWY LOC AT ZZZ. WE AGAIN DID NOT GET A GREEN DOWN AND LOCKED INDICATION FOR THE NOSE GEAR; AND DID ANOTHER LOW PASS SO THE TWR COULD CHK THE POS OF THE NOSE GEAR. THEY RPTED THAT IT APPEARED DOWN BUT CANTED TO 1 SIDE. THE CREW DECIDED TO CONTINUE AND WAS GIVEN CLRNC TO MAKE R TFC TO CIRCLE AND LAND ON RWY AT ZZZ. LNDG WAS UNEVENTFUL AND WE WERE GIVEN CLRNC TO TAXI TO COMPANY HANGAR. WE PARKED; DEBARKED OUR PAX AND I PUT IN THE GEAR PINS.

How do I search flights by aircraft type on FlightFinder?

Pick an aircraft model — Boeing 737, Airbus A320, A380, Boeing 787 Dreamliner and more — enter your origin airport, and FlightFinder shows every route that plane flies from there with live fares.

Which aircraft types can I filter by?

We support Boeing 737/747/757/767/777/787, the full Airbus A220/A319/A320/A321/A330/A340/A350/A380 family, Embraer E170/E175/E190/E195, Bombardier CRJ and Dash 8, and the ATR 42/72 turboprops.
