DAB CTLR DESCRIBED DISPUTE WITH SUPVR REGARDING DASI ALT SETTING; ALLEGING INTIMIDATION BY THE SUPVR AS A RESULT.
WITHIN MINS OF SITTING DOWN AT W ARR RADAR; I WAS NOTIFIED THAT A SPECIAL WX OBSERVATION WAS AVAILABLE WITH AN ALTIMETER READING OF 30.00. I READ THE WX STATEMENT OVER THE FREQ AND THEN OBSERVED THAT THE DASI ALTIMETER SETTING WAS 29.94 AND THE INFO DISPLAY DID NOT INDICATE A CORRECTION FACTOR. A TSTM HAD JUST PASSED THE ARPT WHERE THE ASOS IS LOCATED AND WAS ABOUT 6-7 MI S OF THE FIELD. I IMMEDIATELY INFORMED THE FRONT LINE MGR (FLM) OF THE DISCREPANCY. HE FELT THAT IT WAS NOT A PROB SINCE THE TSTM HAD JUST PASSED AND THE PRESSURE HAD DROPPED AS A RESULT. I WAS NOT COMFORTABLE WITH HIS STATEMENT AND WE BANTERED BACK AND FORTH. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT DURING STORM PASSAGE; THE FACILITY HAD RECEIVED AT LEAST 2 COMMERCIAL PWR BUMPS. I WAS ALSO WORKING A HELI IN CLOSE PROX TO THE GND; TREES AND ANTENNAS SPOTTING WILDFIRES THAT HAD RESULTED FROM LIGHTNING STRIKES. THE ACFT WAS WORKING IN LOW VISIBILITY DUE TO SMOKE AND RAIN. THE FLM AT ONE POINT ASKED ME WHAT I WANTED HIM TO DO ABOUT IT AND HE APPEARED VERY IRRITATED. I UNDERSTAND THAT MAYBE WE WERE NOT COMMUNICATING VERY WELL; BUT ALL THAT NEEDED TO BE SAID; WAS I WILL INVESTIGATE IT AND LET YOU KNOW. HE COULD HAVE REVIEWED THE ASOS OID (DISPLAY SCREEN) TO CHK THE 2 MIN OBSERVATION TO DETERMINE IF THE DASI WAS WORKING PROPERLY AND THAT THE CURRENT OBSERVATION WAS NOT A FACTUAL STATEMENT OF THE CURRENT PRESSURE. IN THE END; THE FLM ENDED UP STANDING OVER MY L SHOULDER IN A POSTURE THAT LEFT ME FEELING VERY INTIMIDATED AS HE TOLD ME IN A LOW TONE THAT HE WAS ANGRY. HIS VOICE TONE AND BODY LANGUAGE WERE UNACCEPTABLE FOR THE SITUATION. AS A RESULT; I NOW HAVE TO QUESTION HOW I WILL APPROACH THIS INDIVIDUAL WITH POTENTIAL EQUIP ISSUES OR OTHER OPERATIONAL MATTERS.
