AN ACR PILOT CALLED OFF OF TRIP SICK AND AS PER THE ACR'S REQUEST PROVIDED A MD'S DIAGNOSIS AND EXCUSE. ACR FAILED TO PAY SICK CLAIM EVEN AS PILOT FOLLOWED ACR AND FAA GUIDELINES.
CALLED IN SICK FOR MY TRIP IN THE MORNING AND SCHEDULING REQUESTED A NOTE FROM MY DOCTOR. AT MY APPOINTMENT; I REQUESTED A NOTE. I SENT THE NOTE TO THE CHIEF PLT'S OFFICE. THE ASSISTANT CHIEF PLT CALLED THE NEXT WK TO LET ME KNOW THE NOTE ITSELF NEEDED A DIAGNOSIS AND THE DOCTOR'S SIGNATURE. I WENT BY THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE AND FAXED THE NEW NOTE TO THE CHIEF PLT'S OFFICE. WITH NO FURTHER CONTACT FROM THE CHIEF PLT'S OFFICE; I RECEIVED A CERTIFIED LETTER FROM OUR CHIEF PLT THAT MY SICK NOTE WAS INSUFFICIENT AND MY SICK PAY WAS DENIED; AND THE COMPANY CONSIDERED THIS A JOB ACTION. I HAVE NEVER BEFORE HAD THE COMPANY DECIDE; WITHOUT SEEING ME OR ASKING ME EXACTLY WHAT WAS WRONG; THAT I WAS ABLE TO WORK. IN FACT; THE FARS DEMAND THAT I DECIDE WHETHER I AM ABLE TO WORK. I WAS IN THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE BECAUSE I DECIDED I WAS NOT FIT TO FLY. IN THIS CASE; THE COMPANY HAS DECIDED TO DENY ME MY BENEFITS AND TELL ME WHEN I AM ABLE TO FLY AND WHEN I AM NOT. I PROVIDED DOCUMENTS AS REQUESTED BY THE COMPANY; AND BY FAR I REMOVED MYSELF FROM FLYING WHEN I FELT I WAS NOT FIT. I WAS UNABLE TO FLY DUE TO SINUS ISSUES. THE MGMNT SHOULD NOT INTERFERE WITH FARS BY INTERVENING IN AN INDIVIDUAL PLT'S DECISION DETERMINING FITNESS TO FLY. NOR SHOULD MGMNT WITHHOLD BENEFITS WITH NO CAUSE.
