AN ACR FLT CREW ENCOUNTERED A TAILWIND ON FINAL APP TO JAC AND ALLOWED AN UNSTABILIZED APP TO CONTINUE TO LANDING.
THIS IS TO RPT A POSSIBLE UNSTABILIZED APCH INTO JAC. I WAS THE PF. AFTER THE IFR ARR INTO JAC WE RPTED THE RWY IN SIGHT AND WERE CLRED FOR A VISUAL. I MANEUVERED E OF THE SNAKE RIVER AS PER COMPANY SPECIFIC PAGE; AND WAS ON THE GS AND CONFIGURING WHEN WE BEGAN TO PICK UP A TAILWIND. AT FIRST IT WAS INSIDIOUS; GRADUALLY INCREASING THE LOWER WE DSNDED; AND IT BEGAN TO UPSET MY PLAN FOR SLOWING AND CONFIGURING. WE WERE IN A STABILIZED APCH AT 500 FT; IN ACCORDANCE WITH SOP; HOWEVER ON THE FAST SIDE OF THE AIRSPD RANGE AT VLS +15 KTS. I HAD EXPECTED THE TAILWIND TO DECREASE AS WE GOT CLOSER TO THE RWY; AND HAD TALKED ABOUT THIS WITH THE COPLT; SINCE THE TWR RPTED WINDS WERE A DIRECT XWIND AT 10 KTS. UNEXPECTEDLY; THE TAILWIND DID NOT DIMINISH; AND TO REMAIN ON PROFILE I UNWILLINGLY ALLOWED THE AIRSPD TO INCREASE ABOVE THE LIMIT FOR A STABILIZED APCH. I TOUCHED DOWN AT THE 2000 FT POINT; AS REQUIRED AND THE LNDG WAS UNEVENTFUL. I REALIZE HOW CRITICAL AIRSPD CTL IS ON APCHS INTO JAC; AND HAVE TO ADMIT I FELT PRESSURE TO GET THE AIRPLANE ON THE GND DURING THIS APCH. WE WERE OVER AN HR LATE DEPARTING ZZZ; JAC OPS HAD SENT US A MESSAGE STATING THAT THEY WERE GOING TO WORK AS HARD AS THE COULD TO MAKE OUR TURN QUICK; AND THAT WE HAD MANY TIGHT CONNECTIONS ON THE RETURN FLT. I ALSO FEEL THAT INDUSTRY EVENTS ARE DISTRACTING TO ALL OF US; AND NEED TO RECOMMIT MYSELF TO FLYING WITH SAFETY AS MY UTMOST PRIORITY.
