Synopsis

A CRJ200 CARGO FIRE BOTTLE LOW PRESSURE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CREW DECLARED AN EMER AND DIVERTED TO A NEARBY ARPT. THE BRAKES OVERHEATED AFTER A FAST LANDING. THE ACFT WAS EVACUATED.

Narrative

WHILE CLBING THROUGH FL290; WE GOT A 'CARGO BOTTLE LOW' CAUTION MESSAGE. AS THE PLT MONITORING; I SWITCHED THE RADIOS TO THE CAPT AND RAN THE QRH; WHICH MADE THE LIGHT GO OUT. AFTER DISCUSSION WITH MAINT AND BTWN THE CAPT AND MYSELF; WE DECIDED TO DIVERT TO ZZZ BECAUSE A FIRE COULD CAUSE THE SENSORS TO BURN OUT. I WAS GIVEN THE COMMAND TO DECLARE AN EMER; AND WE WERE GIVEN A SPIRALING DSCNT TO 10000 FT AND GO DIRECTLY TO ZZZ WHEN ABLE. I GOT THE ATIS; LOOKED UP THRUST SETTINGS; CONTACTED ZZZ OPS; TALKED TO ATC; AND RAN ALL CHKLISTS. WHEN I FINISHED; WE WERE ON A 5 MI FINAL. WE WERE ON A FASTER FINAL THAN USUAL; BUT I FIGURED THE CAPT WANTED TO GET THE ACFT ON THE GND ASAP IN CASE OF AN ACTUAL FIRE AND I AGREE WITH HIS DECISION. AS A RESULT; WE LANDED FAST AND LONG AND HE BRAKED IMMEDIATELY. ONCE OFF THE RWY; I ASKED THE FIRE CREWS IF THEY SAW ANY SMOKE AND THEY DIDN'T. ONCE WE GOT NEAR THE GATE; THE FIRE CREWS INFORMED US THERE WAS SMOKE COMING FROM THE BRAKES. SHORTLY AFTER; WE GOT A 'BRAKE OVERHEAT' MESSAGE IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY A BTMS OF 9. THE CAPT DECIDED TO EVAC THE PAX; AND AFTER THEY WERE EVACED AND THE ACFT SHUT DOWN; THE CAPT BEGAN THE APPROPRIATE PHONE CALLS AND PAPERWORK. ONCE THAT WAS DONE; WE GOT TOGETHER AS A CREW; DEBRIEFED; AND AGREED TO CONTINUE TO ZZZ1. AFTER THE BRAKES COOLED; WE PROCEEDED UNEVENTFULLY TO ZZZ1.
