A LEAD MECHANIC REPORTS ON MISCOMMUNICATION BETWEEN HIMSELF AND AN OUTSTATION MECHANIC REGARDING FLT CREW LOG WRITE-UP; #1 NAV FAILED. ITEM DEFERRED. MAINT BASE LATER FOUND ESSENTIAL AVIONICS CIRCUIT BREAKER TRIPPED ON SAAB 340B ACFT.
MR X WAS WORKING THE ACFT AT THE OUTSTATION. HE RPTED TO ME THAT HE WAS DEFERRING THE #1 NAV DUE TO THE PIREP -- #1 NAV FAILED. I REVIEWED THE MEL AND CONFIRMED THAT WOULD BE THE PROPER MEL FOR THAT ITEM. MAINT DEFERRED THE ITEM WITH THE CREW ALONG WITH THE ASSOCIATED TAWS MODE 5 MEL. UPON ARR; ZZZ CREW CALLED MAINT THEN STATED THE FO ALSO HAD THE CDI NEEDLE MISSING IN VOR MODE ON HIS SIDE AND STATED THE CAPT SIDE HAD A SHARK'S TOOTH DISPLAYED. HE SAID THIS SHARK'S TOOTH ISSUE WAS IN HIS ORIGINAL PIREP IN ZZZ1. THAT INFO WAS NOT GIVEN TO ME BY MR X. I ASKED IF HE WAS TOLD THAT BY THE CREW; AND HE STATED NO. THE SHARK'S TOOTH IS A GIVEAWAY TO ME THAT THERE MAY HAVE BEEN A PWR SUPPLY ISSUE. IN ZZZ; AVIONICS FOUND THE ESSENTIAL AVIONICS CIRCUIT BREAKER TRIPPED. THEY RESET IT AND ALL SYS STARTED WORKING PROPERLY. THEY CLRED THE ZZZ PIREP AND THE 2 MEL'S. PIREP IN ZZZ ASSOCIATED TO MEL'S. TROUBLESHOT AND CLRED ALL ITEMS. EITHER THE CREW DID NOT TELL MR X ABOUT THE SHARK'S TOOTH ON THE CAPT RMI OR THEY DID; AND HE DID NOT FORWARD THAT INFO TO ME. SUGGEST PULLING THE PHONE TAPES TO SEE IF THE CREW GAVE HIM THAT INFO. DEPENDING ON WHAT HAPPENED; MAKE SURE ALL INFO PERTAINING TO DISCREPANCY BE GIVEN TO ALL PERSONS INVOLVED IN THE DEFERRAL.
