LESS THAN STANDARD SEPARATION BETWEEN ATX ON MISSED APCH AT TEB AND ACR ON ILS APCH TO EWR. OPERATIONAL ERROR.
I WAS WORKING THE SATELLITE APCH POS IN THE EWR SECTOR. I CLRED ATX X FOR A VOR B APCH TO TEB. ATX X MISSED APCH. THE MISSED APCH INSTRUCTIONS READ; 'CLBING RIGHT TURN TO 2000' VIA TEB R-335 TO PATERSON NDB AND HOLD.' BY THE TIME I RECEIVED ATX X BACK ON MY FREQ; HE WAS 2 MI S OF TEB AT 2000'. AT THE SAME TIME THERE WAS ACR Y ON AN ILS 22L APCH TO EWR; HE WAS 2 1/2 MI S OF TEB DSNDING OUT OF 2200.' AT THIS POINT WAS THE LOSS OF SEP.* TO CORRECT THE SITUATION FROM HAPPENING AGAIN; WE SHOULD RESTRICT THE MISSED APCH TO 1500' AND HAVE AN INTXN ON ILS 22L THAT THE ACFT HAVE TO CROSS AT 2500'. *TEB FSS THEN PUT OUT A SPECIAL OBSERVATION; NOT BECAUSE OF THIS; TO SHOW IFR CONDITIONS AT TEB ARPT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: WE DISCUSSED FEASIBILITY OF HIS SUGGESTIONS AND RPTR AGREED THAT THEY WERE PROBABLY NOT WORKABLE. SAYS OPERROR REVIEW SHOWED THAT TEB TWR LCL CTLR HAD TOLD ATX X TO STANDBY FOR MISSED APCH INSTRUCTIONS INSTEAD OF TELLING ACFT TO EXECUTE PUBLISHED MISSED APCH PROCS OR TO MAKE RIGHT TURN TO 335 DEG R. THIS DELAY PUT THE ACFT TOO FAR S OF TEB ARPT BEFORE TURNING. NO PROCS HAVE BEEN CHANGED SINCE INCIDENT; BUT FAA HAS INSTALLED A REPEATER BRITE SCOPE IN TEB TWR WHICH GIVES SAME DISPLAY AS ONE IN EWR TWR. THIS SHOULD HELP PRECLUDE SIMILAR INCIDENTS. SAYS WX DROPPED RAPIDLY WHILE ATX X ON APCH.
