SMT ABORTS TKOF DUE TO CREW HATCH COMING OPEN AND THEN STRIKES REIL WITH RIGHT PROPELLER DUE TO BRAKE FAILURE.
CREW HATCH WAS NOT LATCHED PROPERLY. THERE IS NO ANNUNCIATOR LIGHT OR WINDOW TO SEE LATCHES. HATCH OPENED ON TKOF ROLL AND HAD TO ABORT TKOF. ON TAXI BACK BRAKE FAILURE AND WENT OFF TXWY AND HIT TAXI LIGHT. FAA RPT ENCLOSED. I WAS CONDUCTING IOE. I WAS SITTING IN THE RIGHT SEAT. I WAS FLYING FLT (LEX TO IND) AND ON THE LNDG ROLL IN IND THE LEFT BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I TOLD CAPT WHAT HAPPENED AND ASKED HIM TO TAKE OVER; WHICH HE DID. HE HAD NO PROB WITH HIS BRAKES. AFTER THE TAXI CHK WAS COMPLETED AND ACFT WAS IN A SAFE POS FOR ME TO TAKE OVER; I DID TEST MY BRAKES AGAIN. THE LEFT BRAKE FELT FINE; I CONTINUED THE TAXI TO THE RAMP. UPON TURNING LEFT INTO THE RAMP THE LEFT BRAKE WENT OUT AGAIN. CAPT TOOK OVER AND PARKED THE ACFT. I DID A MAINT WRITE UP ON THE BRAKE. THE ACFT WAS ON THE RAMP AT XX50 AND DEPARTED AT XY10. PRIOR TO THE NEXT LEG THE BRAKE WAS SIGNED OFF BY MAINT; THEY HAD BLED THE BRAKE AND IT OPS CHKED GOOD. CAPT WAS FLYING THE NEXT LEG IND TO LEX. WHILE WE WERE TAXIING OUT I TESTED THE BRAKE SEVERAL TIMES AND IT WORKED FINE. FLT LEX-IND WAS MY LEG. I TAXIED TO RWY 22 AND THE BRAKED WORKED FINE. THE TAXI CHK AND BEFORE TKOF CHK WAS COMPLETED; PRIOR TO THE HOLD SHORT LINE. CAPT RECEIVED THE TKOF CLRNC AT THE SAME TIME HE BEGAN THE READ BACK; I ATTEMPTED TO START A LEFT TURN TOWARD THE RWY WHILE TAXIING IN BETA. I WAS UNABLE TO COMPLETE THE LEFT TURN USING A COMBINATION OF FULL LEFT RUDDER AND LEFT BRAKE DUE TO BRAKE FAILURE. CAPT COULD NOT HEAR ME CALLING HIM ON THE INTERCOM SINCE HE WAS READING BACK THE TKOF CLRNC TO ATC. I RAISED MY VOICE SO HE COULD HEAR ME THROUGH HIS HEADSET AND TOLD HIM I HAD NO BRAKES. SIMULTANEOUSLY HE REALIZED THIS AND TOOK CTL OF THE ACFT. HE HAD CTL OF THE ACFT WHEN THE NOSE WHEEL WAS AT THE EDGE OF THE TXWY. HE APPLIED HIS LEFT BRAKE AND THE ACFT TURNED LEFT BUT NOT IN TIME TO KEEP THE RIGHT PROP FROM HITTING A REIL. AFTER THE ACFT STOPPED I TOLD THE TWR WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND HE ASKED ME IF WE COULD TAXI CLR OF THE RWY. I SAID YES; KNOWING THAT CAPT'S BRAKES HAD WORKED FINE. AFTER CLRING THE RWY THE ACFT WAS SHUT DOWN AND THE TWR NOTIFIED THE RESCUE TRUCK.
