ACR LTT DISTR FINDING PROPER TWR FREQ AFTER GIVEN WRONG FREQ BY APCH CTLR FAILS TO COMPLETE LNDG CHECKLIST.
ALL WAS WELL FOR US UNTIL THE LAST VECTOR ONTO THE FINAL APCH COURSE. THE TURN WAS ISSUED A LITTLE LATE AND TIGHT; PLUS THE CTLR HAD LEFT US AT 3000' MSL APPROX 2 MI FROM SUNNE; THE FAF AT SJC. 1900' IS THE INTERMEDIATE ALT APCHING SUNNE. MEANWHILE THE PF WAS APCHING 2 DOTS HIGH ON THE G/S; AND WAS 1/2 A DOT OFF COURSE. I MENTIONED THIS TO THE PF; AND NECESSARY STEPS WERE TAKEN TO CORRECT THE PROB. THE BEFORE LNDG CHK WAS CALLED FOR. I SELECTED THE GEAR TO THE DOWN POS; AND TORQUES WERE BEING REDUCED TO THE FINAL APCH SETTING WHEN THE CTLR TOLD US TO CONTACT THE TWR ON 120.50. I ACKNOWLEDGED BY REPEATING BACK 120.50; PAUSED FOR A MOMENT; AND THEN CHANNELIZED AND SPOKE TO WHOM I THOUGHT WAS SJC TWR. I RECEIVED NO RESPONSE. I TRIED AGAIN BUT TO NO AVAIL. I LOOKED AT MY APCH PLATE AND FOUND THE PROPER FREQ; QUICKLY CHANGED TO IT; AND RPTED INBND ON THE ILS. THE TWR ACKNOWLEDGED AND CLRED US TO LAND. EVERYTHING WAS FINE UNTIL I STARTED TO COMPLETE THE AFTER LNDG CHK AND NOTICED THAT A CRITICAL ITEM (AUTOFEATHER ARM) HAD NOT BEEN ACCOMPLISHED ON THE BEFORE LNDG CHK. AFTER A REVIEW OF THE TAPES WITH BAY APCH IT WAS INDEED THE CTLR'S FAULT ON THE FREQ HDOF. HE ISSUED THE WRONG ONE; BUT MAYBE TO A LARGER DEGREE; ME THE PNF LET A SIMPLE HDOF DISTRACT ME. THE DISTR ALLOWED ME TO INITIATE; BUT NOT COMPLETE A CRITICAL CHKLIST FOR LNDG.
