ENGINE FAILURE ON TKOF AT OR BEYOND V1.
ENG START; TAXI AND ACCELERATION WERE ALL NORMAL. SOME CREW HAD BROUGHT ACFT IN FROM MCO AND HAD NO ENG ABNORMALITIES. INITIAL TKOF ROLL WAS NORMAL. AT V1 VR F/O INITIATED ROTATION. WITH NOSE WHEEL JUST LIFTING OFF GND; CREW FELT AND HEARD LOUD COMPRESSOR STALL-LIKE VIBRATIONS ACCOMPANIED WITH ENG FAIL LIGHT ON GLARESHIELD. F/O ANNOUNCED 'ENG FAILURE;' AND AT THAT POINT CAPT TOOK ACFT AND ABORTED TKOF. FROM ENG INSTRUMENTS; CREW COULD NOT TELL WHICH ENG HAD FAILED. FROM THROTTLE VIBRATION; CAPT ASCERTAINED #3 TO BE THE PROB. AS ACFT CLRED RWY #3 WAS SHUTDOWN; F/O COULD FEEL VIBRATIONS FROM #3 FUEL SHUTOFF LEVER. ALTHOUGH NO COCKPIT INDICATIONS OF THE FIRE WERE PRESENT; CAPT CALLED FOR FIRE DEPT TO VISUALLY CHK ENG AS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE. SATISFIED THAT NO FIRE EXISTED; WE TAXIED BACK TO RAMP. POST FLT INSPECTION REVEALED SEVERE DAMAGE TO #3 ENG. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 95415: I STARTED TO REVERSE THE ENGS AND NOTICED THE #3 THROTTLE VIBRATING; SO I JUST USED 1 AND 2 IN REVERSE AND APPLIED LIGHT WHEEL BRAKING. I THINK WE HAD ABOUT 3000' OF RWY REMAINING WHEN ACFT CAME TO A STOP. I COULD NOT; AND DO NOT; BELIEVE THE OTHER 2 CREWMEMBERS COULD IDENTIFY WHICH ENG HAD MALFUNCTIONED.
