NTSB Safety Recommendation — Aviation
Recommendation text
TO THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION: If the panel requested in Safety Recommendation A-03-53 determines that a requirement for the installation of low-airspeed alert systems in airplanes engaged in commercial operations under 14 Code of Federal Regulations Parts 121 and 135 is feasible, establish requirements for low-airspeed alert systems, based on the findings of this panel. (Superseded by A-10-12)
In plain language (FlightFinder summary)
The Federal Aviation Administration is asked to establish requirements for low-airspeed alert systems in airplanes operated under 14 CFR Parts 121 and 135, but only if a panel convened under Safety Recommendation A-03-53 first determines that such a requirement is feasible, and the requirements should be based on the panel’s findings.
This plain-language summary is written by FlightFinder to explain the recommendation above. It is not the official wording — the verbatim NTSB text is quoted above.
