NTSB Safety Recommendation — Aviation
Recommendation text
The National Transportation Safety Board recommends to the Federal Aviation Administration: Require an immediate inspection of all Eclipse 500 airplane throttle quadrants to ensure that pushing the throttle levers against the maximum power stops will not result in an engine control failure, and further require that any units that fail the inspection be replaced and that the replacement parts be similarly inspected. (Urgent)
In plain language (FlightFinder summary)
The Federal Aviation Administration is urged by the National Transportation Safety Board to mandate an immediate inspection of throttle quadrants on Eclipse 500 airplanes, checking that pushing the levers against the maximum power stops cannot cause an engine control failure. Any quadrant that fails the inspection must be replaced, and the replacement parts must undergo the same inspection.
This plain-language summary is written by FlightFinder to explain the recommendation above. It is not the official wording — the verbatim NTSB text is quoted above.
