TO THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION: Require Boeing to assess the effectiveness of the engine fire and overheat detection and warning system for the General Electric CF6-80C2 modelengines installed in Boeing 747 airplanes.If deficiencies are found in the placement or responsiveness of the alerts, either provide sufficient data to support the current configuration or redesign the engine fire oroverheat detection and warning system.
