NTSB Safety Recommendation — Aviation

Recommendation text

TO THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION: In cooperation with the National Weather Service (NWS), revise the Interagency Agreement between the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration/NWS for the center weather service units (CWSU) and its accompanying statement of work if needed to add the new responsibilities of CWSU personnel in response to Safety Recommendations A-14-17 and/or A-14-18 to the NWS, which are in addition to the other responsibilities currently performed by the NWS under this agreement.

In plain language (FlightFinder summary)

The FAA is asked to work with the National Weather Service (NWS) to update the Interagency Agreement and statement of work for center weather service units (CWSUs). The revision should add new responsibilities for CWSU personnel that were recommended in Safety Recommendations A-14-17 and/or A-14-18, which go beyond the NWS's current tasks under the agreement.

This plain-language summary is written by FlightFinder to explain the recommendation above. It is not the official wording — the verbatim NTSB text is quoted above.
