Recommendation text

TO THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION: Evaluate whether the recording of stale data by the Boeing 787 enhanced airborne flight recorder, including whether the data are specifically identified as stale, impacts the certification of the recording system regarding the ranges, accuracies, and sampling intervals specified in 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 121 Appendix M, and take appropriate measures to correct any problems found.

The Federal Aviation Administration is asked to assess whether the Boeing 787's enhanced airborne flight recorder records stale data, and if so, whether this affects the recorder's certification for ranges, accuracies, and sampling intervals under 14 CFR Part 121 Appendix M. Based on the findings, the FAA must take appropriate corrective actions.

This plain-language summary is written by FlightFinder to explain the recommendation above. It is not the official wording — the verbatim NTSB text is quoted above.
