NTSB Safety Recommendation — Aviation
Recommendation text
TO TEXTRON AVIATION, INC.: Inform owners and operators of the airplane models on type certificate A3EU that are subject to postmaintenance stall flight tests of the circumstances of these accidents to increase their awareness of the possibility of unacceptable stall behavior, such as an uncommanded roll through 360° and entry into a spin, and that the flight crew training and experience needed to ensure the safety of these flights exceeds that which is typically provided to operational line pilots. (Urgent)
In plain language (FlightFinder summary)
Textron Aviation, Inc. is urged to notify owners and operators of airplane models under type certificate A3EU about the circumstances of recent accidents involving post-maintenance stall flight tests. The notification should highlight the risk of dangerous stall behavior, such as an uncommanded 360° roll and spin entry, and emphasize that the flight crew training and experience required for safe execution of these tests exceed what operational line pilots typically receive.
This plain-language summary is written by FlightFinder to explain the recommendation above. It is not the official wording — the verbatim NTSB text is quoted above.
