IT IS, HOWEVER, RECOMMENDED THAT THE OCCURRENCE OF THIS INCIDENT BE MADE THE SUBJECT OF AN ALERT BULLETIN TO RE-ALERT CONCERNED OPERATORS AND THUS MINIMIZE THE POSSIBILITY OF A RECURRENCE OF A SIMILAR ASSEMBLY ERROR. IT IS FURTHER RECOMMENDED THAT A REVISED ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE WHICH WOULD PREVENT INCORRECT ASSEMBLY OF THE SUBJECT PARTS BE MADE THE SUBJECT OF A MANDATORY REVISION TO THE PRATT & WHITNEY JT3D ENGINE OVERHAUL MANUAL. SUCH A PROCEDURE IS PRESENTLY UNDER DEVELOPMENT BY THE CARRIER.
