In plain language (FlightFinder summary)
The NTSB advised the FAA to mandate immediate changes to a specific Simmonds fuel metering pump model to improve safety. This includes replacing a particular drive pin and establishing regular maintenance schedules for cleaning and replacing the fuel filter. The agency was also urged to consider adding a bypass mechanism to ensure fuel flow continues even if the filter becomes blocked.
This plain-language summary is written by FlightFinder to explain the recommendation above. It is not the official wording — the verbatim NTSB text is quoted above.
