THE NTSB RECOMMENDS THAT THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION: EXPEDITE THE RESEARCH AT THE CIVIL AERO MEDICAL INSTITUTE NECESSARY TO DEVELOP THE TECHNOLOGY, EQUIPMENT STANDARDS, AND PROCEDURES TO PROVIDE PASSENGERS WITH RESPIRATORY PROTECTION FROM TOXIC ATMOSPHERES DURING IN-FLIGHT EMERGENCIES ABOARD TRANSPORT CATEGORY AIRPLANES. (Supersedes Safety Recommendations A-73-068, A-73-070, and A-74-005)
