Recommendation text

THE NTSB RECOMMENDS THAT THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION: INCORPORATE IN ANY 14 CFR PART 139 RULEMAKING PROPOSAL CALLING FOR A REDUCTION IN CRASH-FIRE-RESCUE CAPABILITY AT INDEX A AND B AIRPORTS A LIST OF AFFECTED AIRPORTS, A LIST OF TYPES AND SCHEDULES OF AIR CARRIER AIRCRAFT SERVING THESE AIRPORTS, AND A DESCRIPTION OF THE EFFECT OF SUCH A REDUCTION ON THE FIREFIGHTING POSTURE OF THE AIRPORTS.

In plain language (FlightFinder summary)

The FAA is asked to ensure that any rulemaking proposal under 14 CFR Part 139 that would reduce crash-fire-rescue capability at Index A and B airports includes a list of affected airports, a list of aircraft types and schedules serving them, and a description of the impact on firefighting posture.

This plain-language summary is written by FlightFinder to explain the recommendation above. It is not the official wording — the verbatim NTSB text is quoted above.
