THE NTSB RECOMMENDS THAT THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION: PUBLISH IN FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION ADVISORY CIRCULAR NO. 43-16, GENERAL AVIATION AIRWORTHINESS ALERTS, DETAILS OF RECENT ACCIDENTS AND INCIDENTS IN WHICH BELLANCA VIKING (MODELS 17-30 AND -31) AND SUPER VIKING (MODELS 17-30A AND -31A) AIRPLANES HAVE EXPERIENCED ENGINE POWER LOSS AS A RESULT OF BROKEN EXHAUST TAILPIPE ASSEMBLIES, AND EMPHASIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF PROPER MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM OF THESE AIRPLANES.
