THE NTSB RECOMMENDS THAT THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION: AMEND FEDERAL AVIATION HANDBOOK 7210.3G, FACILITY OPERATION AND ADMINISTRATION, TO REQUIRE THE OBSERVATION OF LIGHTNING OR EXISTENCE OF CUMULONIMBUS AND TOWERING CUMULUS CLOUDS AS ITEMS TO BE INCLUDED ON AUTOMATIC TERMINAL INFORMATION SERVICE BROADCAST WHEN THAT INFORMATION HAS BEEN INCLUDED IN THE REMARKS SECTION OF OFFICIAL WEATHER REPORTS.
