THE NTSB RECOMMENDS THAT THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION: REQUIRE MCDONNELL DOUGLAS TO REVISE, AS APPROPRIATE, THE ACCELERATE-STOP DISTANCES IN THE DC-10-30/40 FAA APPROVED AIRPLANE FLIGHT MANUAL TO INCLUDE THE INCREASE IN STOPPING DISTANCE ATTRIBUTED TO WORN BRAKES (DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAFETY RECOMMENDATION A-90-27) AND TO INCLUDE THE PROPER APPLICATION OF SAFETY MARGINS FOR IN-SERVICE VARIATIONS (DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAFETY RECOMMENDATION A-90-028).
