THE NTSB RECOMMENDS THAT THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION: AMEND THE AIRMAN'S INFORMATION MANUAL, PARAGRAPH 545, AND ADVISORY CIRCULAR 90-23D TO INFORM PILOTS OF "SMALL" CATEGORY AIRCRAFT THAT UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES INVOLVING TAKEOFF BEHIND "LARGE" CATEGORY AIRCRAFT, THEY CAN EXPECT THAT A 3-MINUTE DELAY WILL BE IMPOSED BY AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS IN ORDER TO ALLOW FOR THE DISSIPATION OF THE WAKE TURBULENCE.
