NTSB Safety Recommendation — Aviation

Recommendation text

THE NTSB RECOMMENDS THAT THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION: DIRECT AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL FACILIITES, ESPECIALLY AIR ROUTE TRAFFIC CONTROL CENTERS, WHICH HAVE TEMPORARY OR PART-TIME CONTROL JURISDICTION OF TOWER AIRSPACE, TO DEVELOP LISTS OF EMERGENCY CONTACTS, SUCH AS AIRPORT OPERATIONS OFFICES AND COUNTY OR LOCAL AREA LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES, FOR USE DURING THAT TEMPORARY OR PART-TIME JURISDICTION.

In plain language (FlightFinder summary)

The Federal Aviation Administration is asked to require air traffic control facilities, particularly Air Route Traffic Control Centers, that temporarily or part-time control tower airspace to compile lists of emergency contacts, such as airport operations offices and local law enforcement, to be used during those periods.

This plain-language summary is written by FlightFinder to explain the recommendation above. It is not the official wording — the verbatim NTSB text is quoted above.
