NTSB Safety Recommendation — Aviation

Recommendation text

TO THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION: Provide clear guidance to all air traffic controllers and supervisors that "blanket broadcasts" in the tower cab without receiving acknowledgments are unacceptable methods of communicating info, and require that all advisories, coordination, and pertinent info disseminated to controllers are acknowledged by the individual controller to ensure receipt of the info.

In plain language (FlightFinder summary)

The Federal Aviation Administration must issue clear guidance stating that blanket broadcasts in the tower cab are unacceptable unless acknowledgments are received, and must require that all advisories and coordination sent to controllers are individually acknowledged to confirm receipt.

This plain-language summary is written by FlightFinder to explain the recommendation above. It is not the official wording — the verbatim NTSB text is quoted above.
