THE NTSB RECOMMENDS THAT THE FAA: REVISE AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE 95-03-01, APPLICABLE TO GENERAL ELECTRIC CF6-50, 80A, & -80C2 MODEL ENGINES TO REQUIRE REPEATED INSPECTIONS OF ALL HIGH PRESSURE COMPRESSOR ROTOR STATE 3 TO 9 SPOOLS, EXCEPT FOR THE TWO-PIECE SPOOLS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN SOLUTION HEAT TREATED AFTER WELDING. THE MAXIMUM INTERVAL BETWEEN INSPECTIONS SHOULD BE APROPRIATELY LESS THAN 4,000 CYCLES. (URGENT)
