THE NTSB RECOMMENDS THAT THE FAA: IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE BOEING COMMERCIAL AIRPLANE GROUP & U.S. OPERATORS OF THE BOEING 767, ESTABLISH A NON-DESTRUCTIVE INSPECTION TECHNIQUE & CRITERIA TO INSPECT & DETECT CORROSION & CRACKS ON THE INTERNAL SURFACE OF THE MAIN LANDING GEAR OUTER CYLINDER AFT TRUNNION &, AS SOON AS IT IS DETERMINED TO BE EFFECTIVE, ISSUE AN AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE TO REQUIRE OPERATORS TO USE THE TECHNIQUE.
