Serious incursions (Category A and B)
2015-06-17 · El Paso International Airport · SW4 / C172 · RWY 26L · Category A
SW4 LANDED RUNWAY 22 AND EXITED AT TAXIWAY MIKE. GROUND CONTROL (GC) ISSUED INSTRUCTIONS FOR SW4 TO TAXI TO PARKING VIA TAXIWAYS MIKE, LIMA AND HOLD SHORT OF RUNWAY 8R. READ BACK WAS CORRECT. GC OBSERVED THE SW4 CROSSING RUNWAY 8R/26L AND INSTRUCTED THEM TO HOLD SHORT OF RUNWAY 26L FOR DEPARTING TRAFFIC. SW4 CROSSED RUNWAY 26L AS C172 WAS EXECUTING A STOP AND GO APPROACH. THE FACILITY ESTIMATED THAT C172 OVERFLEW SW4 BY 50 TO 100 FEET.
Counts are reported events, not a danger ranking. Before FY2008 the FAA used a narrower definition, so earlier years are not directly comparable.
