Event Description
During the takeoff roll, the pilot observed a 5-inch difference in manifold pressure between the two engines. As the aircraft accelerated, it began to drift to the right.
Sequence of Events
The pilot applied corrective differential power, rudder, and aileron inputs to counter the drift. However, the pilot reported that a gust of wind caused the aircraft to drift further to the right. Subsequently, the right main landing gear departed the runway surface and entered soft sand. This caused an increased pull to the right, despite the pilot's efforts to maintain directional control.
Outcome
The pilot initiated an aborted takeoff and applied the brakes. However, the aircraft swerved off the runway and collided with a fence.
