Incident Overview
During taxi for departure, the aircraft experienced several jolts to the right. The captain subsequently stopped the aircraft and requested ground personnel to inspect the landing gear.

The manufacturer had previously issued Service Bulletin A32-127. On May 9, 1985, this bulletin was revised to address stress corrosion in the area where the failure occurred. The revision recommended a modification to prevent such failures.
