Accident Summary
A student pilot conducting an endorsed solo cross-country flight experienced a momentary partial loss of engine power during the climbout phase following a touch-and-go landing. Although engine power was regained, the airplane remained at a low altitude and low airspeed. The pilot then raised the nose in an attempt to clear trees, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall. The airplane subsequently struck trees and the terrain.
Sequence of Events
After completing a touch-and-go landing, the student pilot began the climbout. Shortly after, a momentary partial loss of engine power occurred. The engine subsequently regained power, but the airplane's altitude and airspeed were insufficient. To avoid trees ahead, the pilot pulled the nose upward. This action induced a stall, and the airplane then collided with trees and the ground.
