Incident Details
According to the pilot, the landing approach involved a side slip to the runway threshold, followed by a wheel landing. During the rollout, the pilot intentionally raised the right wing to veer off the left side of the grass strip towards the airport buildings. The pilot reported feeling the left main landing gear tip inwards, prompting him to straighten out the landing roll. The airplane came to rest approximately 30 feet off the departure end of the runway in a corn field, with the left main landing gear collapsed.
