Overview
An airplane encountered a gust of wind during its takeoff roll on Highway 181, causing it to leave the paved surface and travel down an embankment, where it came to rest inverted.
Sequence of Events
The takeoff roll was initiated on the highway. During the roll, a wind gust affected the airplane, pushing it off the asphalt. The airplane then proceeded off the road and down an embankment, leaving skid marks that were visible across the roadway and down the slope. The airplane came to rest in an inverted position.
Examination
After the occurrence, the pilot and a Federal Aviation Administration inspector examined the wreckage. They reported no mechanical malfunctions or failures. The airplane's systems and structure were found to be intact.
