Accident
On Tuesday, June 1, 1999, American Airlines Flight 1420, a scheduled domestic passenger flight from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to Little Rock National Airport, overran the runway upon landing in Little Rock and crashed. The aircraft was a McDonnell Douglas MD-82.
Casualties
Of the 145 people aboard, 9 were immediately killed, including the captain and eight passengers. Two additional passengers died in the hospital in the following weeks.
