Accident Overview

Passenger Account
According to the passenger, who was seated in the left rear seat, the private pilot executed a "perfect landing" on runway 15. The passenger could not recall the events immediately following the landing, stating that he opened his eyes to find the airplane on the ground among trees, surrounded by a ring of grass fire.
On-Site Evidence
Photographs taken at the accident site showed tire tread marks deviating from the runway environment, leading directly to the wreckage area. Additionally, blade tips from the propeller were found along the accident energy path, embedded in dirt and tree limbs.
Examining Official Findings
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) inspector who responded to the site reported noting no anomalies that would have prevented flight operations. A nearby weather observation facility reported wind conditions at 170 degrees at 8 knots.
