What happened

On January 15, 2008, at 1120 UTC, a Beech C90B, registration SU-ZAA, crashed during a training flight at Port Said Airport (HEP), Egypt. The flight, operated by the Nuclear Center Survey, had originated in Cairo, Egypt.

The crew was performing touch-and-go landings on runway 01 under visual meteorological conditions. While the aircraft was in the takeoff climb phase to begin its seventh circuit, it crashed approximately 500 meters from the airport, positioned east of the extended runway centerline. The impact resulted in a post-crash fire and the destruction of the aircraft. The pilot and the training pilot sustained 2 fatal injuries.
