Accident Summary
A pilot performed a wheel landing in a tailwheel-equipped airplane under variable wind conditions. During the landing roll, the tail of the airplane began to settle as the airplane veered suddenly to the right. The pilot attempted to correct the veer, but the efforts were unsuccessful, and the airplane ground looped.
Aircraft Damage
Examination of the airplane after the accident revealed that the left main landing gear was displaced underneath the fuselage, and the outboard portion of the left wing sustained structural damage.

The pilot stated that there were no mechanical anomalies with the engine or flight control system at the time of the accident.
