On September 9, 2008, at approximately 1820 Chilean local time, a Cessna 172R aircraft, Chilean registry CC-KAZ, operated by Club Aereo de Los Andes, was substantially damaged when it impacted mountainous terrain near El Trebolar, in the Valparaiso Region of Chile. The Chilean certificated private pilot and two passengers sustained fatal injuries.
