Accident Overview
On February 16, 2009, at 1520 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), a Cessna P206 single-engine airplane, Panamanian Registration HP-1367 RS, was destroyed on impact and consumed by a post-crash fire near the Island of Cebaco, Panama. The last known position was reported south of the city of Santiago, Panama.
Flight Details
The airplane was owned by Panama Aircraft Rental & Sales and operated by a private individual. The cross-country flight had departed from Aeropuerto Marcos A. Gelabert (MAG), Panama City, Panama, with the intended destination of the Island of Coiba (COJ), Panama.
Occupants and Injuries
One passenger was killed. The pilot and one passenger sustained serious injuries.
