What happened
On February 16, 2009, at 1520 UTC, a Cessna P206 with registration HP-1367 RS crashed near the Island of Cebaco, Panama. The aircraft had departed from Aeropuerto Marcos A. Gelabert (MAG) in Panama City, Panama, and was en route to the Island of Coiba (COJ), Panama.
The aircraft was destroyed upon impact and subsequently consumed by a post-crash fire. The last known position of the aircraft was reported south of the city of Santiago, Panama. The flight was operated by a private individual, and the aircraft was owned by Panama Aircraft Rental & Sales.
The accident resulted in 1 fatal injury and 2 serious injuries.
