What happened
On March 1, 2009, at 16:23 UTC, a Beech 100, registration YV-2129, crashed into mountains near San Miguel, Trujillo, Venezuela. The aircraft, operated by Commad Air C.A., was flying a visual flight rules (VFR) flight plan from Oscar Machado Zuloaga Airport (SVCS) in Charallave, Miranda, to Dr. Antonio Nicolas Briceno Airport (SVVL) in Valera, Trujillo.
At the time of the accident, the aircraft was operating under instrument meteorological conditions (IMC). The airplane struck terrain at an elevation of 9,300 feet, approximately 22 nautical miles east of its destination airport. The crash resulted in 6 fatal injuries, involving the two pilots and four passengers.
