What happened
On March 9, 2009, at 15:35 local time, a McDonnell Douglas MD-90, registration PK-LIL, was landing on runway 25L in Jakarta. During the landing roll, the aircraft skidded off the right side of the runway. At the time of the event, the runway surface was wet from rain, and winds were recorded at 200 degrees at 20 knots.
There were no injuries among the 166 passengers, 4 flight attendants, or 2 pilots on board. The aircraft sustained substantial damage, including the failure of the left main landing gear.
