What happened
On May 5, 2009, at approximately 09:00 central daylight time, a Cessna 3ASS (registration XB-CUC) crashed in Veracruz, Mexico. The aircraft had departed from General Heriberto Jara Corona International Airport with a planned destination of McAllen, Texas. Shortly after takeoff, the pilot requested to return to the airport and received clearance from the tower to land. During the landing attempt, the aircraft crashed.
The accident resulted in 3 fatalities and 1 serious injury. The occupants included the pilot and two passengers who died, while one passenger sustained serious injuries.
